This document is an historic artifact of sorts. In 1992, CDOT engineer Ed Miller, who had worked on the Glenwood Canyon I-70 project, was asked look at the possibility of building a bike path through South Canyon. He identified a preferred alignment (south side guardrail on the north riverbank) and a cost estimate ($1.9 million).
